1、 Ladies and gentleman,
Welcome to Boston University on such a beautiful Friday night.
My name is Yujing Cai, and I am a graduate from the Master of Mathematical Finance program. I come from Nanjing, China, one of the oldest cities in the world. Right now, my family is sitting somewhere over there. 45. They travelled across half of the earth to attend their daughter’s graduation ceremony. And they are watching me giving a speech in a language they don’t understand. Therefore, I am tremendously honored to share my perspective of 6 years at the Questrom School of Business.
46. The thing I always enjoyed doing was looking at the different country flags in the hall. Sometimes my friends and I even have silly competitions going on to see who knew more flags and it often amazed me how many different cultures and nationalities are represented in our community.
In the past 6 years here. 47. 我很自豪见证了我们学校的成长。 from School of Management to Questrom School of Business, and that our community is growing stronger and better each year, and this couldn’t have happened without the effort of everyone here to share, to inspire, and to embrace each other.
Let’s now think about the future. 48. 没有人知道我们将会面临什么样的挑战。But we are sure that we will need a diverse(多样的) set of skills and knowledge. 49. And the most important of all is that we need an open mind to learn. That’s why we have been so lucky to be part of the Questrom community that cultivated such freedom of an open mind.
So, congratulations, class of 2017! For when you walk outside that door today, you are already equipped with one of the most critical skills to succeed in the future, the ability to embrace diversity. Thank you so much!

24、 In Hong Kong, most schools are very strict about what students wear to school. For example, they do not allow students to wear any kind of accessories, such as necklaces or earrings. Some people argue that small items, like simple earrings, should be acceptable. However, I feel that students should not be allowed to wear any kind of accessories to school.
Firstly, if students are allowed to wear accessories to school, they will be less focused on their studies. Instead of discussing schoolwork, they will spend time talking about accessories. For example, things like the latest trends or where to find them. Besides, if students are allowed to wear accessories to school, they will probably spend a lot of time reading fashion magazines and shopping. As result, they will spend far less time on homework and revision.
Another reason why I think accessories should not be allowed in school is that they can be very costly. Even if students choose not to buy designer accessories, they may still spend a lot of their pocket money on them. This is because there are many types of accessories available and they would probably want several items of each.
All in all, if students are allowed to wear accessories to school, it will distract(分散) them from their studies. In addition, it will cost them a lot of money. Therefore, I believe that students should not be allowed to wear accessories to school.
【1】Which of the following things are accessories?
A.Rings B.Sweaters C.Shoes D.Uniforms.
【2】How do students probably get the information about new accessories?
A.By discussing schoolwork with friends. B.By chatting with some designers online.
C.By reading fashion magazines and shopping. D.By entering a school for only designers.

D.To advise more and more students in Hong Kong to wear simple accessories to school.
【4】What is the structure of this passage?
A. B.
C.
D.
25、 I had the meanest mother in the world. Other kids ate candies for breakfast. I had to have cereal, eggs or bread. Others had Coke and candies for lunch. I had to eat a sandwich. As you can imagine, my supper was also different from other kids’. But at least, I wasn’t alone. My sister and two brothers had the same mean mother as I did.
My mother had to know who our friends were and where we were going. If we said we would be out for an hour, we couldn’t stay away for one hour and one minute. We had to be in bed by nine each night and up at eight the next morning. We had to do housework like doing the dishes, making the bed and cooking.
Through the years, things didn’t improve. Our marks in school had to be up to standard. Our friends’ report cards had beautiful colors on them---green for passing red for failing. My mother, being as different as she was, would only accept black marks. With our mother behind us, none of us were allowed to drop out of school.
My mother forced us to grow up into educated and honest adults. I am now trying to raise my children. I am full of pride when my children call me a mean mother. Why? Because now I thank God every day for giving me the meanest mother in the world.

27、Money may not buy happiness, but it helps. Many teenagers want to learn how to manage money before going out into the world. Being smart with your money is an idea raised by Dr. Mara Harvey, a money expert. The following are some of her tips.
Learn to make money. Ask parents or neighbors if you can do chores to make pocket money. These could include washing a car or taking the dog for a walk. Communicate with parents and neighbors to agree on the value of different jobs before you start. When doing chores you may also discuss with them to know how to improve doing chores. These will help when you have a grown-up job, too.
Help your money grow. Money can’t grow if its siting inside a piggy bank (存钱罐). Put your money in the bank in the long run and one day you may feel surprised at how much money you have.
Make a plan. If you have a big event, such as a holiday coming up, it might mean you will need to spend more of your pocket money. Try making a plan for spending and saving. Write down how much money you have and what you are buying so that you can better take control of your money.
Spend your money wisely. Work out how much you can spend each month. Spend your money on what you truly need. Then try to cut down on spending. For example, rather than eating out, you can choose to cook at home.
