One cold winter day, Meng Tsung’s mother got really sick. He sat by her bed and took care of her day and night. However, nothing helped, and she got worse.

Meng Tsung asked, “What can I cook for you to make you well?” His mother answered, “I would love a bowl of bamboo shoot(竹笋) soup”.
