24、Teenager Jake Deham was skiing with his family in the USA when he fell over and lost one of his skis. His family didn’t know that he had a problem. They kept on skiing. When they got to the foot of the mountain, there was no sign of Jake.
Jake couldn’t find his ski anywhere. In the end, he decided to take off his other ski and walk down the mountain. But he couldn’t work out the right way to go.
It was now getting dark and he was a long way from any place of safety. He knew that he might die that night in the cold temperatures. But Jake kept calm. At home, Jake watched a lot of programmes about living in difficult situations. He remembered the advice from these programmes and knew that he should build a hole in the snow. Nine hours after he lost his ski, he found a team of worker who came to save him. He was safe!
His mum was very happy when she heard the news. Amazingly, Jake didn’t even have to go to hospital. He got through the terrible experience without any injuries.

25、 It is the year 1026, the time of the Song Dynasty. You are trained to become a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) doctor. You are about to take your final exam. What kind of thing will you face?
During the Song Dynasty, doctors needed to show thy understood meridians (经络) — paths of energy running through the body.
If you were the one to take the exam, you would be asked to show how you would treat symptoms on a life-sized model covered in wax (蜡). Under the wax, the model would be made of bronze (铜), filled with water, and covered in holes running along the meridian paths.
You would need to place an acupuncture needle (针灸用的针) into the correct part of a meridian to pass the exam. If you got it right, the needle would go straight through he hole, and water would pour out of the model. If you picked the wrong spot, the needle would hit the bronze model and you failed.
The exams wanted to make sure all young doctors knew how to treat patients hitting the same correct acupuncture points.
The first “bronze man” acupuncture model was made in 1026 by one of the great doctors named Wang Weiyi. Wang also wrote a book that was used across the country to teach how to use the model. Now you can see a copy of one of these bronze men in China’s National Museum.

What can I say…. I’m a huge Disney fan. Maybe not like my friend over at Reviewing All 54 Disney Animated Films. And More!, the Disney cartoons have been a big part of my life. So, in a sense, the Disney animated features are a big deal to me.
Whether young or old, Zootopia’s story carries a powerful and thematic commentary message that’s highly valued and relative (especially in today’s world). As Judy Hopps says in the movie “Life’s a little bit messy. We all make mistakes. No matter what type of animal you are, change starts with you.” And I can’t agree more with that statement.
【1】 In the film, the animal hosting turns into a ___________ if you live in Sydney.
A. koala B. giant panda
C. moose D. jaguar
【2】Who is one of the directors of the film?
A. Jared Bush B. Rich Moore
C. Idris Elba D. Ginnifer Goodwin
