21、Mo Yan is one of the most popular Chinese writers today. All of his books are bestsellers(畅销书). And his three books, including Red Sorghum (《红高粱》), have been made into films.
Mo Yan was born in Gaomi, Shandong Province in 1955. There are six people in his family. They are his parents, his two brothers and his sister. As a child, he went to the primary school in his village, and because of some reasons, he left school and worked on the farm. In 1976 he joined the army and worked for the army. Five years later, he started writing and finished his first three novels. Later, he wrote more than thirty famous books. His novel, Red Sorghum, came out in 1986, and it was made to be a film by Zhang Yimou. It was his first big success.
Mo Yan won Nobel Prize for Literature in 2012, and he is the first one who won this prize of China. Our Jing Ke (《我们的荆轲》 ) was published in Beijing after he won Nobel Prize. He has a daughter, Guan Xiaoxiao. And his daughter is also a writer. Now he lives with his wife and his daughter in Beijing. In his free time, he goes on his writing.

ACTIVITIES
Taking jungle trips
Perhaps the most exciting part of this project will be the jungle trips. You’ll travel across Pench and Kanha National Parks by jeep at different times of the day. These two parks are among the best locations in the world for seeing Bengal tigers in their natural habitat. There are thought to be 131 tigers in Kanha National Park and 53 in Pench National Park.
Visiting local villages
Throughout this project, you’ll visit many different Indian villages. You’ll have the chance to chat with villagers and learn about their culture. You’ll also learn about what it means to live in or around a national park.
Inspiring children
You’ll visit two local schools. Once you are there, your job is to teach the school children about the importance of wildlife protection (with the help of some local teachers).
Meeting with experts (专家)
During the project, you’ll explore (探讨) India’s efforts to protect its tigers. You’ll learn some of this through discussions with wildlife experts. You’ll go on nature hikes with one of these experts.
