四、阅读理解 (共4题,共 20分)
  • 24、   Many people love travelling to different countries, but if you plan to go abroad, you should know how to behave properly in different situations around the world.

Most travelers enjoy meeting new people, but sometimes you can be rude without saying anything. In Russia, you should never shake hands in a doorway. And if you're travelling in Thailand, never touch people’s heads or point your feet at people. When the Japanese meet new people, they like giving business cards---but you should read the card carefully, not just put it in your pocket.

In most countries in Europe, people expect a lot of eye contact (交流) when you talk to them, but in many Asian countries, a lot of eye contact seems unfriendly. In South America, people usually stand quite close to each other when they talk, but in countries like the USA, you need to give people more personal space. Also, it's rude to interrupt(打断) Japanese people while they are talking to you. You must wait until they finish before you start speaking.

In restaurants in China, you can leave a bit of food on your plate, and it's OK to start smoking before other people finish eating, but you mustn't do these things in the UK. When in India, remember to eat with your right hand. Also avoid leaving empty bottles on the dinner table in Russia---that's bad luck.

With so much to think about, it's not surprising that many people prefer going on holiday in their own countries---or you might just decide to stay at home!

    根据短文内容,判断下列句子正误。正确的用“A”表示,不正确的用“B”表示。

1In Russia, you are not supposed to shake hands in a doorway or leave empty bottles on the dinner table.

2In Thailand, you can touch people's heads or point your feet at people.

3In most European countries, a lot of eye contact seems unfriendly when you talk to people.

4In restaurants in UK, it's OK to leave a bit of food on your plate and start smoking before other people finish eating.

5The passage tells us how to behave properly in different situations around the world.

  • 25、Changes are happening all the time. Nothing in life ever remains the same. So what can we do when going through life changes? Here are three suggestions:

    Find time for self-reflection(自省)

Having time to reflect(反省) is important in your life, and it’s also important during the changing time. Self-reflection needs some quiet time. If we deal with changes correctly, it can give us chances of growth.

When we go through big changes, we think we are dealing with something no one else can understand. And sometimes we don’t want to cause trouble for others. But it’s a good idea to stay with positive(积极的) friends who can cheer you up and help you look at things in a new way.

Set smart goals and make small wins

Setting smart goals helps you know how to make things better and achieve success. Write out your goals and your plans, and try to meet them. This will help you get new directions and keep active. Start with small wins and then build up bigger goals.

【1】Which of the following sentences can be put in ?

A.Give a hand to your friends

  • 27、Most dictionaries will tell you a number of things about a language. There are three important things. These three things are spelling, pronunciation and meanings.

First, a dictionary will tell you the spelling of a word. If you are not sure about the spelling of a word, you can try to find the correct spelling in a dictionary. Words are listed in alphabetical order—a,b,c and so on. For example, on a dictionary page the word “poor”—p,o,o,r – comes before “poverty”—p,o,v,e,r,t,y—and the word “poverty” comes before “ power”—p,o,w,e,r. The words are always given in an alphabetical order.

The second thing, a dictionary will tell you pronunciation. Most give phonetic, or sound, alphabet. The phonetic spelling will tell you how a word is pronounced. There are a few different phonetic alphabets. Many dictionaries use the International Phonetic Alphabet to show pronunciation.

Third thing, a dictionary will tell you the meaning of words. You can look up a word and find out what it means. Many words have more than one meaning, and a good dictionary will tell you all of the word’s meaning. For example, in English the common word “get” has over 20 different meanings.

1In the passage, which of the following is among the three important things?

    A. How to write a word well.   B. How to use a word.

    C. How to make a sentence.   D. How to read a word correctly.

2Of the three words: “remove”, “ remote” and “ remount”, _____ in a  dictionary.

    A. “remote” comes first and “remove” comes last.

    B. “remove” comes first and “ remote” comes last.

    C. “remote” comes first and “remount” comes last.

    D. “remove” comes first and “remount” comes last.

3A better dictionary can tell you _______.

    A. more of the word’s pronunciation.   B. More of the word’s meaning.

    C. More of the word’s spelling.   D. More of grammar.

4Phonetic alphabets are used to show _______

    A. spelling   B. handwriting   C. meanings   D. pronunciation
