一、翻译题 (共1题,共 5分)
  • 1、阅读下面短文。

Have you ever made a promise to yourself that you didn’t keep? 1.Usually, when the New Year begins, we make resolutions like studying harder or learning to play the guitar. Sadly not long after that, we often end up breaking them. But what if we want to develop a new good habit?

A habit is something we do almost without realizing it. It’s just like having breakfast or saying “Thank you”, which most of us do every day.

    2. 极据一项研究, 培养一个新习惯通常需要66天。This is possible. However, willpower (意志力) might not be the only thing you need. The reason for developing the habit is important.

The problem is, your feelings may influence your willpower. For example, a bad feeling may mean you don’t want to do anything.

3.这研究也表明你不应该一次改变太多。 Remember that it’s a case of baby steps. Giving up all your favorite foods, doing morning exercise and going to bed early at the same time will probably result in failure.

    4. Finally, if you feel uncomfortable when doing something, then stop doing it.

It might not be quick to develop a new habit. But if you follow the advice, you may succeed. 5.So be patient and believe that you can make change for the better.

四、阅读理解 (共4题,共 20分)
  • 24、Some people think music isn’t funny at all. About 4% of the population is what scientists call “amusic”. People who are amusics are born without the ability to enjoy musical notes. Amusic people often cannot tell the differences between two songs.

As a result, songs sound like noise to an amusic. Many amusics compare the sound of music to pieces of metal hitting each other. Life can be hard for amusics. In fact, most people cannot understand what it feels like to be an amusic. Just going to a restaurant or a shopping center can be uncomfortable or even painful. That is why many amusics have to stay away from places where there is music. However, this can result in social loneliness. “I used to hate parties,” says Margaret, a seventy-year-old woman who only recently discovered that she was an amusic. By studying people like Margaret, scientists are finally learning how to identify(辨别)this unusual condition.

Scientists say that the brains of amusics are different from those who can enjoy music. The difference is complex(复杂 的), and it is not connected with poor hearing. Amusics can understand other non-musical sounds well. They also have no problems understanding common speech. Scientists compare amusics to people who just can’t see certain colors.

Many amusics are happy when their condition is finally diagnosed(诊断). For years, Margaret felt embarrassed about her problem. Now she knows that she is not alone. That makes it easier for her to explain. “When people invite me to a concert, I just say ‘No, thanks. I’m an amusic.’” says Margaret.

【1】Amusics are the people who ________.

    A.like music

    B.have poor listening

    C.don’t like music

D.are born unable to enjoy music

    【2】Scientists identify amusics by ________.

    A.studying different kinds of music

    B.going to parties regularly

    C.studying amusic people

    D.comparing music to colors

【3】What is the main idea of the passage?

    A.Amusics’ strange behaviors.

    B.Musical ability.

C.Some people’s inability to enjoy music.

    D.Identification and treatment of amusic.

  • 25、How fit are your teeth? Are you lazy about brushing them? Never fear. An inventor is on the case. An electric toothbrush senses how long and how well you brush, and it lets you track(跟踪) your performance on your phone.

The Kolibree toothbrush was exhibited at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week. It senses how it is moved and can send the information to an Android phone or iPhone through a Bluetooth wireless(无线的) connection.

The toothbrush will be able to teach you to brush right(don't forget the insides of the teeth!) and make sure you're brushing long enough. "It's kind of like having a dentist actually watch your brushing on a day-to-day basis," says Thomas Serval, the French inventor(发明家).

The toothbrush will also be able to talk to other applications(设备) on your phone, so developers could, for example, create a game controlled by your toothbrush. You could score points for beating monsters among your teeth. "We try to make it smart and fun," Serval says.

Serval says he got the idea by his experience as a father. He would come home from work and ask his kids if they had brushed their teeth. They said "yes," but Serval would find their toothbrush heads dry. He decided he needed a brush that really told him how well his children brushed.

The company says the Kolibree will go on sale this summer, from $99 to $199, and the U.S. is the first target market.

1All the following statements are wrong EXCEPT_________.

    A. It can sense how users brush their teeth.   B. It can track users' school performance.

    C. It can check users' fear of seeing a dentist.   D. It can help users find their phones.

2What can we learn from Serval's words in Paragraph 3?

    A. You will find it enjoyable to see a dentist.

    B. You should see your dentist on a day-to-day basis.

    C. You can brush with the Kolibree as if guided by a dentist.

    D. You'd like a dentist to watch you brush your teeth every day.

    3What can we infer(推断)about Serval's children?

    A. They were unwilling to brush their teeth.

    B. They often failed to clean their toothbrushes.

    C. They preferred to use a toothbrush with a dry head.

    D. They liked brushing their teeth after Serval came home.

  • 26、   One day when some government officials(官员) were rebuilding a house, they found a mouse hole in a corner and used smoke to make the mice inside come out. A while later, they saw mice running out, one after another. But they saw two mice didn’t run away immediately. It seemed that one was trying to bite  ( 咬 ) the tail of the other.

Everyone was puzzled, so they came nearer to take a look. They realized that one of the two mice was blind, and the other was trying to make the blind mouse bite his tail in order to pull  the blind one with him to run away.

During the meal time , they started to talk about the two mice. One serious American said, “I think the relationship between those two mice was that of king and guard.”

A smart Frenchman said, “I think the relationship between them was that of husband and wife.”

A Japanese said,“ I think the relationship between them was that of mother and son.”

At that moment, one Chinese asked, “Why did those two mice have a certain relationship?”

Suddenly, they looked back at the Chinese. The American, the Frenchman and the Japanese who had spoken earlier all lowered (低下) their heads in shame, and didn’t answer.

In fact, the great love is not built on friendship or blood relationship. Instead, there’s no relationship.

    根据短文的内容判断正误,正确的写 A,错误的写 B

【1】Neither of the two mice ran away immediately because one was trying to help the blind one.

【2】After the meal, the officials began to talk about the two mice.

【3】The government officials came from different countries.

【4】The officials lowered their heads in shame because they didn’t realize the importance of protecting animals.

【5】The passage mainly tells us that love is all.

  • 27、Technology is changing to suit people’s needs. The early development of transportation technology as well as the modern development of telecommunication has offered human a rapid rise in efficiency (效率). Of course, technology has also made life more complicated (复杂的) and some may say, led to bad effects. However, it is obvious that technology has made life better than before.

There’s no doubt that technology has improved the standards of living. Machines can now do the heavier work which human beings find very difficult to do. Industrialization (工业化) has brought about large production, people can get goods at a cheaper price, too. Technology has made every aspect (方面) of life more convenient: computers have made work in the office more efficient and transport systems have made travel cheaper and even more enjoyable.

Technology has also improved the quality of social life. The communication technology has brought the world closer, whether for business or for personal relationships.

Yet, even though it is true that life has improved with technology, life has also become more complicated as technology becomes more common in our lives. The use of the Internet has changed the way we communicate, socialize and do business, and thus exposed us to risks. As more business deals take place online, there is an increase in cybercrime (网络犯罪). And stolen data has become a huge problem for businesses and banks. Cyberbullying (网络欺凌) is also becoming more widespread today. As much as technology has improved our lives, it has also brought about new sets of problems.

Still, technology has given us the means to a better life that was unimaginable. To say that technology does not make life better or even makes life worse is an absolute wrong conclusion. There are also creative ways to solve the problems that technology has brought about, such as using laws and technology itself to solve the very problems it brings about. For example, some countries have introduced laws that control the use of online information to ensure personal safety is protected. Today, space rovers (漫游者) are even exploring new planets to check for signs of life. So, with the development of technology, it is fair to say that the stars are not out of reach.

【1】According to the passage, how has technology improved the standards of living?

    A.By increasing people’s heavier work.

B.By making work in the office more enjoyable.

C.By making different aspects of life more convenient.

D.By helping solve all kinds of difficult problems in life.

【2】What can we learn from the passage?

A.Technology has brought more problems than convenience to human.

B.Communication is more complicated because of technology.

C.Machines will take the place of human beings in the future.

D.Laws can be made to protect personal safety on the Internet.

【3】Which of the following could be the best title for the passage?

A.Will Technology Really Meet Our Future Needs?

B.Can We Protect Ourselves with Technology?

C.Can Technology Change the Way We Work?

    D.Has Technology Made Life Better?
