21、With enough money, it’s possible to do something unbelievable in Dubai and now you can add another to the list — walking on the moon. Recently, Canadian architectural company Moon World Resorts announced plans to construct a $5 billion resort (度假村) that looks like the moon in Dubai.

The project, named Moon Dubai, is meant to help visitors experience space tourism, which allows guests to find out what it is like to walk on the moon. The resort will be very luxurious and contemporary, with a lot of components inside that one would already know — for example, a wellness area, residential properties, restaurants, a convention center, and a spa, each with a lunar twist (月球扭). It will also include a training platform for space agencies and astronauts.

Space tourism currently comes with a big price tag, and it’s a barrier to entry for most travelers. However, the moon resort experience will be significantly cheaper. A walk on the lunar surface of the moon resort is much more affordable at $500.

“Moon Dubai will significantly impact every aspect of the UAE’s economy, including tourism, transportation, commercial and residential real estate, infrastructure, financial services, aviation and space, energy, agriculture, technology and of course education,” says Michael R. Henderson, co-founder of Moon World Resorts. “It will be the largest and most successful modern-day tourism project in the MENA region, doubling annual tourism visitations to Dubai based on its global appeal, brand awareness and unique multiple integrated offerings.”

Whether the project will eventually take off is currently unknown. If the design can be successful, it will require a 12-month pre-development planning program and a 48-month building process. But the company’s plan is viable (可行的). Moreover, Henderson estimated that the moon resort could open in 2027.

Van Gogh’s Sunflowers and Starry Night at Tate Britain

A major exhibition at Tate Britain, which examines how Van Gogh was inspired by British art, and how he in turn inspired British artists. His famous painting Sunflowers fills the gallery with joy, while a work of a red-haired man with piercing (锐利的) blue eyes stares out at visitors.

Glass Master at Kew Gardens

Dale Chihuly creates sculptures out of glass that we would normally think impossible. His bright colorful forms twist and expand as if they are living creatures. With 32 of his sculptures around Kew Gardens, we're looking forward to Kew becoming even more beautiful than it already is.

More of Moore at Museum of London

Henry Moore is best-known for his abstract figure sculptures, with a fantastic collection at the British Museum. What many won't know about is his obsession (痴迷) with armour (盔甲), and the sculptures he created inspired by Renaissance armour. Actually, they're going on display at Museum of London, next to the armour that inspired them.

24、   Facebook has developed a kind of Al （人工智能），translating between any pair of 100 languages without depending on first translating to English.

Facebook's system was trained on a data set of 7. 5 billion sentence pairs collected from the web across 100 languages though not all the languages had an equal number of sentence pairs. "What I was really interested in was cutting out English as a middle man. Globally there are plenty of countries where they speak two languages that aren't English," says Angela Fan of Facebook Al who led the work.

For some language pairs, the new system shows obvious improvements in translation quality. For example, translating from Spanish to Portuguese is extremely strong because Spanish is the second-most spoken first language worldwide, meaning the researchers can get a lot of data. Translation between English and Belarusian also is improved because the Al can translate- Russian into English, which shares similarities with Belarusian.

While the system isn't in use on the social network site, Facebook plans to put it to work soon to manage the 20 billion translations made every day when people click  “Translate“ on posts （帖子） written in more than 160 languages. " Future work will be done on other language," says Fan. "especially for languages where we don't have a lot of data, like South-East Asian and African languages. "

The work “ breaks away from the English-centric models and tries to build more different models", says Sheila Castilho of the ADAPT Centre at Dublin City University, Ireland. "That's pretty new and different. But it's hard to know if the Al does right translation work," says Castilho. “The users may not know the other language, so they cannot judge the correctness of the translation."
